What should you test on your Mac before subscribing?
Use a plan from the kind of project you bid. Open it at the detail scale you normally inspect, move between sheets and check a known group of symbols. Make one correction and confirm that the exported quantity list includes it. Record your browser and macOS version with the result. This trial checks your actual workflow; it is more useful than assuming that a web interface has full feature parity across devices.
How does the Mac workflow compare with Bluebeam?
Bluebeam says its Revu desktop application is not supported natively on Apple Mac devices. It documents other routes, including Bluebeam on web and running Windows through Parallels. Compare those specific workflows with a browser takeoff tool. If you need existing Revu tool sets, Studio workflows or precise markup behavior, test those requirements separately before replacing the setup your team already uses.
How much drawing capacity should you buy?
Count the PDF pages you expect to process in a busy month, including revised sheets, then compare the published allowances below. Keep your own review time in the budget. A subscription buys software capacity; it does not buy an estimator who signs off the scope. Start with a representative file and increase capacity only after checking the output against the source drawing.
What does CyanBuild software cost?
These are CyanBuild’s published software plans as checked on October 6, 2026. Each allowance is for PDF pages per month. You review the quantities; an outsourced takeoff service is a separate purchase.
| Plan | Monthly price | PDF pages / month |
|---|---|---|
| Free | $0 | 3 |
| Starter | $29 | 30 |
| Pro | $99 | 120 |
| Enterprise | $299 | 400 |
Paid subscriptions renew according to their terms. A page allowance does not guarantee the completeness of a takeoff, and unused capacity does not turn the subscription into a per-project service. Check current features and terms before choosing a plan.
What else should you check?
- Does CyanBuild need a native Mac installation?
- The public takeoff workflow is accessed in a browser. Test upload, review and export on your actual Mac before adopting it for a live bid; this guide does not certify every browser and macOS combination.
- Can I move a complete Revu project into CyanBuild?
- A PDF is the starting point for CyanBuild takeoff. Do not assume proprietary markups, assemblies, tool sets or project collaboration settings transfer with it. Check the items your team needs during the trial.
- Is a PDF count ready to bid?
- No. Review the draft detections, compare them with schedules and scope notes, and supply the project-specific rates and exclusions before preparing a bid.
