Which service fees are publicly advertised?
Scope: 4 providers selected because a public fee and location or coverage statement were available. Checked October 6, 2026. This is a convenience sample of advertisements, with no paid invoices or project-specific quotes. Providers have not been evaluated for service quality.
| Location and provider | Advertised fee | Scope and source |
|---|---|---|
| New York USA Takeoffs | From $200 | Subcontractor material takeoff and cost estimate; final fee follows project review. GC packages start at $400. NYC company advertising service across the US; no city-specific rate measured |
| Lilburn, Georgia City Estimating | From $200 | Starter takeoff for smaller residential or single-trade scopes, 1–2 trades; Excel/PDF deliverables. Broader work needs a quote. Published office address; an office location does not establish a local fee |
| Dallas / Houston Clear Cost | $189 per defined trade scope | Single-trade estimate in USD, excluding applicable taxes. Confirm the exact scope; rush work and extra revisions have separate fees. Cities named on the provider's coverage page; the same national advertised fee is shown for both locations |
| Los Angeles / San Francisco Clear Cost | $189 per defined trade scope | Single-trade estimate in USD, excluding applicable taxes. Confirm the exact scope; rush work and extra revisions have separate fees. Cities named on the provider's coverage page; the same national advertised fee is shown for both locations |
| US coverage Vantage Estimating | From $200 | Small, clearly defined single-trade takeoff. Sheet count, project size, scope, revisions and delivery schedule affect the quotation. National service coverage; no separate city fee verified |
No city premium, median fee or average completed-project price was measured. Starting fees have different scope definitions and are not like-for-like bids. Request a scoped quote before purchasing.
What does the existing city dataset contribute?
The construction-budget catalogue contains 104 city records and 0 measured takeoff-service quotes. Its multipliers are illustrative model inputs. They are excluded from the fee table above. The New York, Dallas and Los Angeles pages explain that separate construction-budget model.
What does the city comparison measure?
Each row pairs an advertised service fee with a provider’s published location or stated service area. Read the price unit and scope beside the amount. Where a provider uses the same starting price across locations, the row does not imply that the city caused the price. The checked date refers to the public page, not to a completed transaction or a quote for your drawing set.
Why are construction cost per square foot and takeoff fees different?
A construction budget describes the cost of building work; a takeoff-service fee pays for preparing a quantity deliverable. CyanBuild’s existing city cost-per-square-foot catalogue uses fixed illustrative baseline assumptions and city multipliers with no documented measured-price sample. Those numbers cannot be transformed into service fees, validated city rankings or observed local averages.
How should you request comparable takeoff quotes?
Send the same drawing revision and scope to each provider. Specify included trades, desired quantity format, marked drawings, pricing responsibility, turnaround and revision policy. Ask whether the advertised minimum applies to that scope and request the total before placing an order. Review a sample deliverable and agree who checks omissions and changes; a starting fee alone is not a complete procurement decision.
What does CyanBuild software cost?
These are CyanBuild’s published software plans as checked on October 6, 2026. Each allowance is for PDF pages per month. You review the quantities; an outsourced takeoff service is a separate purchase.
| Plan | Monthly price | PDF pages / month |
|---|---|---|
| Free | $0 | 3 |
| Starter | $29 | 30 |
| Pro | $99 | 120 |
| Enterprise | $299 | 400 |
Paid subscriptions renew according to their terms. A page allowance does not guarantee the completeness of a takeoff, and unused capacity does not turn the subscription into a per-project service. Check current features and terms before choosing a plan.
What else should you check?
- Are these average takeoff prices for each city?
- No. They are dated observations of provider-advertised starting fees paired with coverage evidence. They do not constitute a representative survey or an observed local price distribution.
- Can the cost-per-square-foot dataset fill missing takeoff fees?
- No. Its construction-budget assumptions measure a different concept and are not observed takeoff-service quotes. Missing service fees must remain unknown until a provider supplies a relevant price.
- Is a software subscription the same as buying a completed takeoff?
- No. Software supplies access and processing capacity. An outsourced takeoff fee covers a specified service deliverable. Keep your review time, scope and commercial terms separate when comparing them.
