Concrete takeoff Excel spreadsheet: a clear quantity worksheet

A concrete takeoff spreadsheet should calculate net volume from reviewed dimensions and keep the order allowance in a separate field. Use distinct rows for slabs, footings, walls and other placements; identify thickness, strength and mix requirements from the documents. The CSV below opens in Excel and provides a small worked example. It contains no current concrete prices, engineering design or measured job data. Replace the sample values with your approved drawing dimensions.

How should you organize a concrete workbook?

Use a drawing reference and placement ID on every row. Record length and width in feet, thickness in inches, net volume in cubic yards and any separately justified order adjustment. Keep different mixes and pour phases separate so a combined total does not become an unusable order. Note which deductions, thickened edges and openings have already been included.

What is the volume calculation in the sample?

For a rectangular placement, convert thickness from inches to feet, multiply length by width by thickness, then divide cubic feet by 27 to obtain cubic yards. The example uses 18 ft by 12 ft by 6 in: 108 cubic feet, or 4 cubic yards. Those inputs are illustrative. They are not a recommended slab design or a quantity measured from an actual plan.

What should you verify before requesting a supplier price?

Reconcile sections with the plan so changes in depth and edge conditions are included. Separate reinforcement, formwork, pumping, finishing and delivery from concrete volume. Ask the supplier to state the mix, order unit, minimum delivery conditions and quote validity. Keeping scope explicit is more reliable than turning a single cubic-yard quantity into a complete installed price.

What can you download and adapt?

A plain CSV worksheet you can open in Excel or another spreadsheet application. The values below are illustrative inputs, not measured project data. The CSV contains static values; it does not include formulas, macros, engineering checks or prices.

What does CyanBuild software cost?

These are CyanBuild’s published software plans as checked on October 6, 2026. Each allowance is for PDF pages per month. You review the quantities; an outsourced takeoff service is a separate purchase.

PlanMonthly pricePDF pages / month
Free$03
Starter$2930
Pro$99120
Enterprise$299400

Paid subscriptions renew according to their terms. A page allowance does not guarantee the completeness of a takeoff, and unused capacity does not turn the subscription into a per-project service. Check current features and terms before choosing a plan.

What else should you check?

Can I open the download in Excel?
Yes. The download is a plain CSV quantity worksheet. It is not a macro-enabled workbook and contains sample values rather than a hidden pricing engine.
Does the worksheet include waste?
No default waste is included. Keep a reviewed order allowance separate from net measured volume and document why it is needed for the job.
Does the takeoff set the slab thickness?
No. Use the dimensions and requirements supplied by the project design. The example illustrates unit conversion only.

Where do the figures and product facts come from?

Sources checked October 6, 2026. Published prices can change; verify the actual terms before purchasing. Worked examples on this page are labeled separately from published product or service facts.
