Which columns belong in the drywall worksheet?
Record drawing reference, room or wall ID, board specification, gross area, deducted openings, net area, layers and sheet area. Keep ceilings separate from wall faces and identify each side of a partition. Add order units only after the measured quantity is reviewed. A board count without the specification can hide a mismatch between ordinary board and a rated or moisture-resistant assembly.
How does the example convert area into sheets?
The sample uses an assumed 12 ft by 8 ft surface: 96 square feet before any deductions. One assumed 4 ft by 8 ft sheet covers 32 square feet, so one layer requires 3 sheets in pure area arithmetic. Layout, cuts, openings, multiple layers and handling can change the order. These dimensions demonstrate the calculation and do not describe your actual job.
What should you check before adding a waste allowance?
Review board orientation, available sizes and the way offcuts can be reused. Keep the measured area unchanged and record any added order allowance separately with its reason. Do not apply a blanket percentage twice through both an assembly and a purchasing multiplier. Reconcile fasteners, joint treatment, corner beads and special details as separate scope items where required.
What can you download and adapt?
A plain CSV worksheet you can open in Excel or another spreadsheet application. The values below are illustrative inputs, not measured project data. The CSV contains static values; it does not include formulas, macros, engineering checks or prices.
| Drawing | Surface | Board specification | Length ft | Height ft | Layers | Gross area SF | Sheet area SF | Example sheet count |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Example only | Wall face | Confirm from assembly | 12 | 8 | 1 | 96 | 32 | 3 |
What does CyanBuild software cost?
These are CyanBuild’s published software plans as checked on October 6, 2026. Each allowance is for PDF pages per month. You review the quantities; an outsourced takeoff service is a separate purchase.
| Plan | Monthly price | PDF pages / month |
|---|---|---|
| Free | $0 | 3 |
| Starter | $29 | 30 |
| Pro | $99 | 120 |
| Enterprise | $299 | 400 |
Paid subscriptions renew according to their terms. A page allowance does not guarantee the completeness of a takeoff, and unused capacity does not turn the subscription into a per-project service. Check current features and terms before choosing a plan.
What else should you check?
- Is the CSV a complete drywall estimate?
- No. It is a quantity worksheet with a labeled example. Enter reviewed dimensions, product specifications, current prices and the actual installation scope before using it for purchasing or a bid.
- Should both faces of a wall be counted?
- Count the surfaces and layers required by the specific wall assembly. A wall length alone does not say whether one side, both sides or several layers are included.
- Does a 32-square-foot sheet always cover 32 square feet of finished work?
- Its nominal area is 32 square feet for the example dimensions. Cuts, layout and detailing can reduce usable coverage, so the order quantity must be reviewed separately.
Where do the figures and product facts come from?
Sources checked October 6, 2026. Published prices can change; verify the actual terms before purchasing. Worked examples on this page are labeled separately from published product or service facts.
