Which source references belong on every row?
Record the structural drawing, revision, bar mark and detail or schedule reference. Keep the specified bar designation and coating visible. If a detail changes along a member or zone, split the rows so the quantity follows the design. Do not infer a bend or hook from a straight plan-view line when the section or schedule defines it separately.
What does the length example show?
The worksheet demonstrates 10 assumed straight bars at 12 ft each, giving 120 linear feet. These inputs are illustrative. A total length is not automatically an order by weight: weight conversion depends on the specified bar and an appropriate source, while fabrication depends on the complete detail. This worksheet deliberately leaves those steps to reviewed project information.
What should you reconcile before the order?
Check duplicate schedule references, repeated members and revised details. Confirm whether laps, hooks, bends and other requirements are already included in the supplied cutting lengths. Keep chairs, supports and accessories as explicit scope. Have the responsible project team resolve missing design information instead of filling it with a default spreadsheet assumption.
What can you download and adapt?
A plain CSV worksheet you can open in Excel or another spreadsheet application. The values below are illustrative inputs, not measured project data. The CSV contains static values; it does not include formulas, macros, engineering checks or prices.
| Drawing | Revision | Bar mark | Bar designation | Shape detail | Length ft | Count | Total LF |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Example only | A | Example B1 | From design | Straight example only | 12 | 10 | 120 |
What does CyanBuild software cost?
These are CyanBuild’s published software plans as checked on October 6, 2026. Each allowance is for PDF pages per month. You review the quantities; an outsourced takeoff service is a separate purchase.
| Plan | Monthly price | PDF pages / month |
|---|---|---|
| Free | $0 | 3 |
| Starter | $29 | 30 |
| Pro | $99 | 120 |
| Enterprise | $299 | 400 |
Paid subscriptions renew according to their terms. A page allowance does not guarantee the completeness of a takeoff, and unused capacity does not turn the subscription into a per-project service. Check current features and terms before choosing a plan.
What else should you check?
- Does the worksheet calculate lap lengths?
- No. Lap, development, hook and bend requirements must come from the approved design and applicable project requirements. This is a quantity register only.
- Are the sample 10 bars a real takeoff?
- No. The count and length are illustrative values used to show the multiplication and row structure.
- Can I turn the total length into weight?
- Only with the correct specified bar and a verified unit-weight basis. Preserve the source and units, and do not use a generic conversion across different bar sizes.
Where do the figures and product facts come from?
