How do you reconcile equipment with the schedules?
List the tags shown on the plan and match each one to the equipment schedule. Check for duplicate plan appearances, alternates, existing equipment and equipment supplied by another party. Keep capacity and specification fields as source references rather than guessing them from a symbol. A count can be correct while the selected equipment is still wrong.
Which duct and accessory quantities need their own rows?
Separate duct by the dimensions, construction and unit used for pricing. Keep fittings, dampers, grilles, insulation and supports visible where they are part of the scope. Distinguish measured route length from fabricated surface area or weight. The sample register uses 2 assumed equipment items, 40 assumed linear feet and 6 assumed terminals purely to demonstrate separate units.
What should you review before applying rates?
Check sections and coordination notes for changes in level, routing and access. Clarify controls, testing, balancing, commissioning and connections with the project team. Record exclusions and responsibility splits. Neither an equipment count nor a generic duct rate establishes the full installed HVAC scope, so preserve the review notes alongside the quantities.
What can you download and adapt?
A plain CSV worksheet you can open in Excel or another spreadsheet application. The values below are illustrative inputs, not measured project data. The CSV contains static values; it does not include formulas, macros, engineering checks or prices.
| Drawing | System | Tag or item | Specification reference | Unit | Quantity | Review status |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Example only | System A | Equipment | Confirm schedule | EA | 2 | Illustrative |
| Example only | System A | Duct | Confirm size and unit | LF | 40 | Illustrative |
| Example only | System A | Terminal | Confirm schedule | EA | 6 | Illustrative |
What does CyanBuild software cost?
These are CyanBuild’s published software plans as checked on October 6, 2026. Each allowance is for PDF pages per month. You review the quantities; an outsourced takeoff service is a separate purchase.
| Plan | Monthly price | PDF pages / month |
|---|---|---|
| Free | $0 | 3 |
| Starter | $29 | 30 |
| Pro | $99 | 120 |
| Enterprise | $299 | 400 |
Paid subscriptions renew according to their terms. A page allowance does not guarantee the completeness of a takeoff, and unused capacity does not turn the subscription into a per-project service. Check current features and terms before choosing a plan.
What else should you check?
- Is the sheet an HVAC design calculator?
- No. It organizes takeoff quantities for review. Loads, equipment sizing, airflows and design requirements must come from the responsible design process.
- Can duct length and equipment count be totaled together?
- No. Their units differ. Keep each item and unit explicit and aggregate only compatible quantities.
- Does the download contain actual project quantities?
- No. Its sample rows are labeled illustrations. Replace them with checked drawing and schedule data before using the sheet.
Where do the figures and product facts come from?
Sources checked October 6, 2026. Published prices can change; verify the actual terms before purchasing. Worked examples on this page are labeled separately from published product or service facts.
