Plumbing takeoff sheet: fittings, fixtures and pipe lengths

A plumbing takeoff sheet should separate pipe lengths, fittings, fixtures and equipment, then identify the system, size and material on each row. Keep the drawing reference and revision beside the quantity so a reviewer can follow the work. The sample CSV below is a worksheet structure with illustrative values. It supplies no project design, code requirement or current price. Use your plan, risers, schedules and specifications to define what belongs in the takeoff.

How should you group the plumbing quantities?

Group by system first, then size, material and item type. Keep fixture counts distinct from pipe lengths and accessory counts. If a run changes size or material, split the quantity at that change. Include a source reference for concealed or vertical work identified on risers and sections, so the plan view does not become the only source of scope.

What does the example sheet demonstrate?

The sample includes an assumed 20 ft pipe run, 4 elbows and 2 fixtures. These are three rows with different units and descriptions, not a combined quantity of 26. The dimensions and counts are teaching inputs. They do not establish routing, fitting selection, design sizing or a purchasing list for an actual installation.

Which omissions should the estimator review?

Check the documents for valves, cleanouts, supports, insulation, testing and connections to existing work. Record explicit inclusions and exclusions rather than filling gaps with an automatic allowance. Verify the connection details and material specifications before obtaining prices. A complete scope review needs more information than the visible fixture symbols alone.

What can you download and adapt?

A plain CSV worksheet you can open in Excel or another spreadsheet application. The values below are illustrative inputs, not measured project data. The CSV contains static values; it does not include formulas, macros, engineering checks or prices.

What does CyanBuild software cost?

These are CyanBuild’s published software plans as checked on October 6, 2026. Each allowance is for PDF pages per month. You review the quantities; an outsourced takeoff service is a separate purchase.

Published monthly plans in USD. Source: CyanBuild pricing.
PlanMonthly pricePDF pages / month
Free$03
Starter$2930
Pro$99120
Enterprise$299400

Paid subscriptions renew according to their terms. A page allowance does not guarantee the completeness of a takeoff, and unused capacity does not turn the subscription into a per-project service. Check current features and terms before choosing a plan.

What else should you check?

Can I use this sheet as a plumbing calculator?
It organizes your inputs but does not design or size a plumbing system. Calculate and review measured quantities using the project documents, then add current rates separately.
Should pipe and fittings share a total?
No. Pipe normally uses a length unit while fittings and fixtures use counts. Preserve the unit on every row and compare only like quantities.
Does the sample include labor?
No. Labor must reflect the defined installation scope and a project-specific estimating basis. The worksheet contains only illustrative quantity rows.

Where do the figures and product facts come from?

Sources checked October 6, 2026. Published prices can change; verify the actual terms before purchasing. Worked examples on this page are labeled separately from published product or service facts.
